Karen brings real-world experience to every session — not theory.
She has trained extensively with:

Karen has also mentored over six stylists who have gone on to open their own successful businesses, helping them refine technique, build confidence, and create sustainable careers behind the chair.

And if you’re here, it’s probably because you know you’re capable of more behind the chair… you just need the right support to get there.
Mode Refinement is where we slow things down, zoom in, and work together on the areas that matter most to you. This isn’t generic education or a pre-set program. It’s personal, intentional, and built around your everyday reality as a stylist.
We’ll refine your daily skills behind the chair — from building and retaining a strong, aligned clientele, to tightening up your technical services. We’ll work on precision haircutting, mapping out color techniques, mastering clean, confident color applications, and understanding why you’re doing what you’re doing — not just how.
We’ll also dig into the side of this industry that often gets skipped: your numbers. Pricing. Time. Sustainability. So you’re not just creating beautiful work, but building a career that actually supports your life.
Most of our work is done one-on-one, because real growth happens when education is customized. But if you thrive in shared energy, I also offer small group sessions, along with monthly memberships for artists who want ongoing support, accountability, and refinement over time.
My goal is simple: to help bring you to the next level behind the chair — your next level. With clarity. Confidence. Skill. And a whole lot more intention.

2. Hands-On Refinement & Play
One-on-one or small group coaching using mannequins (and approved models for advanced sessions). We refine technique, then experiment and adapt — without pressure.
3. Lock It In
